Treating Diastasis - any success stories?

I was born with this shite. Now I am 55 and my core is weaker than ever. Some exercises suggested to me in recent years have worsened the condition. Has anyone fixed this shite without surgery?

Have you tried lifting weights with a belt?
Also, why not get the surgery? Seems like insurance would cover it.

I have not tried lifting with a belt. I've considered doing the things I shouldn't do with belts around my mid-section, like traditional planks and crunches. Thought it through and figured my dominant side would still take over.
I was under the impression insurance wouldn't cover surgery unless it was leading to other, more serious health issues but maybe I need to look deeper into that possibility.
There are dozens of different exercises I've found which are supposed to help heal it but nothing I've tried helps.

You need to go see a pelvic floor therapist. They specialize in this sort of thing. It’s not just simply doing “core” exs.

I'll look into this. Thanks.

I asked my doc about it when I was in for a inguinal hernia. He said the diastasis can be fixed surgically, but it is usually considered cosmetic and not covered unless ruptured there.
He gave me a Hexacore Training Program for Diastasis Recti. 6 gentle core exercises to do and a list of common core exercises to avoid. Google Hexacore diastis.
I started doing it for a week, but then stopped for the hernia mesh surgery a couple weeks ago. I'll get back on the wagon in another couple weeks.
One thing that causes or exacerbates diastasis is abdominal fat. I have about ten # to drop.
