Anybody here ever ride a Fairlight Strael?

I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on one or a Roubaix SL8.

Looking for a audax bike that can handle a bit of light gravel. I think they would both do the job.

Admittedly the Roubaix is probably better built for it, but the Strael is calling out to me.
I’m open to suggestions.

frick that get the sl8 and throw some 34s on when you need to ride some light gravel.

Hah. I probably saw you this weekend, then. Jodie (awesome guy) was doing a bunch of work for my son. I was the dude with a moustache and glasses hanging around the trailer a bunch.

I remember you. If you saw someone in overalls in the tent, that was me.

Buck Fifty ended up running in spite of the forecast, which did hold up. Made for some interesting spots in the course that are normally pretty tame. 13th overall. Took a few minutes over 8hrs

Nice. You should make your way down to Louisiana and do Rouge Roubaix one day as a good tuneup for the Buck Fifty

Actually been thinking about planning our Louisiana visit in March next year so I can do rouge roubaix. Probably going to take a year off from Croatan.

Elite wheels has a sale on wheels on Aliexpress. Internet people speak positively about the wheels. Direct from mfg Chinese made wheels with Bitex hubs with your choice of carbon hoops for $345 or Dt swiss 350 clone hubs with carbon hoops for $435 on their anniversary sale. Went with the dt350 clones with id30 asymmetric rims 6 bolt boost config at 1518g. I have a set of burly 1900g i9 Hydra/WTB CRZ i30 carbon wheels on my Kona Hei Hei cr marathon/trail bike. Going to move them to my son's Enduro bike and put the Elite wheels on my bike. Maybe I won't die. We'll see.

Decided to drive a couple hours west for another gravel race yesterday. Change of pace from last week’s long, flat drag. Haven’t been training for 5min punchy efforts but it could have been worse. Shorter race at 55mi, but 5000ft of up. P9

Got my arse handed to me at US Pro Cup last weekend. Moved up a category to get some extra miles and just didn’t have the legs to keep up from the start.

Still a great experience and the Vail Lake trails in Temecula are excellent if you ever have the chance to ride them.

Sea Otter Fuego XL in 3 weeks. I do much better in longer races so hoping for a nice result there.

Set a new PR up Lookout. Wasn’t really trying just held the throttle at 270-275 watts and ended up getting under 23 minutes

In honor of the embed, going to post my kid and his friends most recent edit from a trip to Santa Fe, NM over spring break.

Gearing up for the Big Mountain Enduro at Mt. Nebo in a couple of weeks. My son's now off GT and riding for YT, which has been pretty amazing already. They're building a YT Mill (only 3 in the world) in Bentonville, and in his first week on the brand, he got to ride with Erik Fedko and Dylan Stark all week who were in town shooting a video for the opening of the Mill.
