Watching competitive lifting everyone wears some sort of suit, you dont really hear much about raw lifting maxes

A great suit can add 100 pounds if you know how to use it

I’ve heard on average they can add 50lbs, I guess it really depends on how experienced the lifter is.

We used them for max day when I was at TCU. I think they add 20-30 pounds.

My last max day I benched 305, incline 275 with shirts. And used the wraps to squat 425.

This but like you said, you really need to get acclimated to lifting with it on. It is a huge PIA to get it on as well. You will need help with it. I hated using one and honestly I'm not a huge barbell bench guy anyway but if you are in a meet, you pretty much have to wear one. In my late 30's and early 40's, I could pretty well get up to 405 for a rep, maybe 2. I think my best dry bench max was 425. My best lift in a shirt was 455.

Yeah

I couldn’t get much out of the gear either, I didn’t use it much. The only gear that really worked for me was the older marathon deadlift suit.

These days the gometal squat suit, double denim, double ply bench shirts, if you train the right way and in gear long enough you’ll get a lot out of it
