I’m installing a pool and will be using it for excercise. It’s a “normal size” pool, so too short for laps. Was going to do a current generator (endless pool /river flow/something similar) but recently ran across the idea of tethered swimming. Appealing idea . Obviously a lot less expensive and a lot less stuff can break. Anybody have any experience with this or advice?

Thanks

Both are pretty mind numbing and get old really fast. This is coming from a person that gets on a treadmill for an hour 3x/week for the last twenty years.

I've tried the tether in my pool and it was an ok workout as long as you know your stroke count per 25.

I tried an endless pool a few times and just found it frustrating to have to keep adjusting the current depending on what part of the workout I was on.

I wouldn't depend on either to be used exclusively but they are a decent alternative if you don't have a lap pool near you or they are all shut down right now.

I swim for exercise and love it. i know i would not swim tethered--couldn't stand a dreadmill. however, doesn't sound too expensive to try out if you already have a pool

Current generator would be much better for technique in my opinion. If it’s just exercise that might not matter I guess but if you are training for triathlons I expect you would see the difference.
