I’ve pretty much only seen black people wearing them. I get the concept, you will definitely sweat more. My question is why is it only black people that wear them? I think Martin Lawrence famously passed out wearing one.

I never knew the was the concept. I thought the concept was they were windbreakers. Obviously if it's hot out this isn't a concern, but if you live in an area with colder temperatures it can be handy. I thought Russians wore them and I feel like they were worn by Bostonians in that movie with Damon, Affleck, and Robin Williams that I forgot the name of.

They're just made to make you sweat. These are more designed for athletes needing to shed a few pounds before a weigh in. Naturally these are in every WalMart for mass consumption.

To the OP, now that you say that, I think I have only seen that as well.

I saw a guy in the neighborhood this past summer and another guy on Facebook yesterday. I think they used to be more popular. I guess the idea is to lose weight for a weigh in like a boxer but people see that and think it’s to lose fat.

I thought you guys were talking about the windbreaker track suits that were fairly popular in the 90s.
