I’ve had it mildly for about 8 years. It’s never completely gone away but has reduced to where it was only a few small spots in a single area. Recently it has gotten worse and has started to create some joint pain. I’m thinking the dermatologist is going to recommend some biologics. I’ve always shy’ed away from them due to the side effects and long term commitment.

What medications have you tried that were successful? I don’t want to take some medication that I have to use for the rest of my life.

Yeah, the sun has always made mine go away. Generally, it will nearly go away during the summer, then return in the winter. The tanning bed is just hard to plan around. I have used the one at the dermatologist, it was just hard to make it there 3 days a week.

Do you do the light treatment at a dermatologist clinic or just use a regular tanning bed?

Never had it until last 3 yrs... comes jan-march every single time. Mine doesnt show uo around knees r elbows though like you hear. Always schins, or side of stomach. I will hit tanning bed a couple times a week and it starts to heal.

I use regular tanning bed at gym. Hop in 10 mins, then workout.

If you have joint pain, you very well may have psoritic arthritis (sp). I have it, and it sucks. Some mornings it will take me about 40 minutes or so to unstiffen my back, and I'm only 31. I'm working with a doctor and looking into the twice yearly shots, but they are stupid expensive and put a good hit on your immune system.
