I've been lifting for a while and have been cutting this month. I bought some nutra one protein one and have gained about 9 pounds in about 1 1/2 weeks (the prior few weeks i had dropped about 12 pounds). It's literally the only thing I've changed. It seems a bit excessive for water weight and was curious if anyone else experienced this with this brand?

Could be your body is fighting for it’s “set weight”. When you lost 12 pounds, it could have triggered an adaptation that causes your body to gain the weight back, regardless of nutrition/activity. This is just speculation but I thought I would share this phenomenon with you in case you hadn’t heard it.

Also, yes, protein isolate/concentrate can make you gain weight but 9 pounds sounds unlikely if you are in a calorie deficit

Sounds like some serious bloating of some sort. You definitely haven't gained 9 pounds of fat in 1.5 weeks, even if you were way off the rails.

You have any known dairy or wheat sensitivities? Just looking at the ingredients, nothing really sticks out..

I never thought of it that way but it definitely feels like bloating. Could be something with dairy though. Other than whey I rarely consume milk or milk products.

I suggest trying to find some whey isolate products. Easier to digest. They also generally won't have wheat and such in them.
