Preworkout Headaches

Alright so I finally gave in and tried some pre-workout. Never had much interest in taking any but after hearing people rave seemingly weekly in the gym about the effects,
figured I would give it a go.
A workout buddy uses C4, and the past two days he's let me use his. I am only using ~half a scoop (serving rec is 1 scoop), didn't want to dive in head first. It's not intense, but I definitely 'feel' it, especially when the blood gets pumping during a set. Not sure whether it's a 'good' feeling yet
Anyhow, like I said I used it for the second time today, and both times I've used it now I have gotten a severe headache about half way into my workout. So bad that both days I cut my workout short. I do not ever get headaches (save for the occasional bad hangover), I can't imagine this is coincidental. Anybody ever had this side-effect with a preworkout? Should I try another brand, or is this a sign that my chemical makeup just isn't a fan of this stuff?
I can definitely live without it, but now I'm a little bummed that I might not even be able to try a full shot of the stuff ha.

In most cases, headaches from preworkouts are caused by dialating your blood vessels (it's what makes you a little more vascular when you take it). Sometimes, upping water intake can fix it, but other times it's just that your body isn't meant to take it. I'd try taking a decent sip of water in between every set and if you're still getting a headache, I would just go back to no pre.

Thumbs up to you, water definitely helped. Or, something helped. I tried like 3 different things ha.
You said the dilation (is that a word?) could cause it so I replaced my second cup of coffee this morning with green tea (I know coffee will dilate your blood vessels as well).
Took the same amount of pre today. For whatever reason the headache hit very early, in the middle of my warmup sets. I decided just to try to 'power' through it. Powering through it meaning doing warmup weight, lower reps, drinking a ton of water, and really focusing on not holding my breath at all. Probably put down 3x my usual water intake during a workout.
Anyhow, about 20 minutes in I all of the sudden realized my headache was gone and it's like a dang switch flipped. I felt like the scene on 22 Jump Street where they accidentally take the drugs and just get laser focused and start pounding stuff out like crazy people ha. I was running around the gym just curling everything in sight. One of the best arm days I've had in a while.
Anyhow, tomorrow morning I think I'm gonna try to replace all the coffee with green tea, take the pre a bit earlier, and keep pounding tons of water. Not sure I'll be able to keep taking it if I can't totally eliminate the headache (the first 20 minutes sucked) but that was a solid workout. I still feel that crap.

Yeah I don't know if it's actually a word, but I think it works
Seems like the water helped, try to take your pre 20-30min before workout and drink a at least 20oz before the workout and see if you can nip it in the bud.
Also, have you flown recently? The pressure in airplanes can cause stress headaches, which are triggered by physical exertion, for a few weeks post flight (something that happens to me after I have a 8+ hour flight).

I gave up on preworkouts. All the C4, MP Assault, 1MR and all that crap doesn’t work for me anymore. It’s expensive to buy, and I build a tolerance after the first two weeks. I just buy creatine monohydrate and BCAA by the kilogram. Same price, lasts longer and just the shite I actuallt need.
