Just getting over mild covid.
I had a glass of wine last night and it seemed more vibrant and even tasted different because I picked up more flavor.
I will be experimenting but wondering if anyone else has experienced or heard anything like this.

Opposite for me. I never totally lost my sense of taste and smell, but everything tasted dull. I could pick up salty, sweet, sour, spicy, but no nuanced flavors. It's been about three weeks. It's slowly improving but it's not 100%.

yes your experience is what i hear is the norm.
I’m going to open a new bottle tonight and see if I have the same experience.
Hoping being a sommelier is in my future. haha

I thought that too, briefly, before I realized what I was tasting and smelling was a salty meat taste.

It was altered, and took away from the wine because it was overwhelming it. I thankfully am mostly recovered from all of that roughly 18 mo. Later.

That's how mine is. Lost it all for a couple days, got the MCA treatment, and my smell has been INSANE since. Taste is slightly improved but smell it super sensitive.

I lost my sense of smell and when it came back it seemed to be better than it was before.
