Anybody ever experienced a pinched nerve? I had one last August. Still, the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I had the feel last night that it was happening, again, so I took a muscle relaxer before bed (last pill from August). It is still sore today. I was wondering if a pinched nerve is likely to occur, again, and what I should do?

Occurred in my neck. Not sure what triggered it...I was eating lunch when it first happened.

I pinched one in my neck back in high school. Ever since I have had it happen a couple of times in the same spot.

I have noticed it almost always occurs (for me) if I am looking up and lifting/pushing something straight up in front of me. Last 2 times it happened, I was pushing up on a prop blade on a C-130 and the other time I was going to throw my toddler up in the air playing with him.

Could be a number of things from stress you carry in your posture, to where your computer monitors sit, to just how much rest and sleep you get.

If I had your problem, I would go to a good chiro or an Airrosti clinic and have them do some physical tests. What we see in the gym is that most of the time the pain is downstream of the dysfunction. Repeat episode, to me, indicates a cumulative effect of something that’s going on daily.

I got stacked by a 250 monster when I caught him in a triangle choke doing BJJ. It’s a good move to escape if you do it quick and it’s a great way to completely rupture all your opponents discs in their upper neck which happened to me at C2. That was about 10 years ago and it happened to me again doing BJJ again when I got hip tossed and landed bad on my neck.

I have 2 herniated discs in my neck. C5 & C6 I think. When they flare up it pinches the nerves going down my left arm. It’s not only hurts like hell but it makes my arm feel like I’ve hit my funny bone 24/7. The only thing that helps, barring surgery, is copious amounts of anti inflammatory.
