Title says it all. I'm recovering from lower back surgery. Had S-1 though L2 fused a while back and getting ready for rehab. I would prefer someone other than Star.

I am starting to believe PT is a scam and a racket. You meet with the PT once. They prescibe a treatment. The PT hands you off to PTA and the PTA tells how you many reps of prescribed treatment you have to do and then they go chat with the other PTAs. Very little personal treatment or service. More like a cattle call. At least that was the expirience my mother had. She did finally find one that worked with her but that girl moved away.
Good Luck OP.

95% of them suck. they talk big and then you realize there is very little behind all that talk.

A high percentage of the population have no idea how to exercise or how the body works. PTs cater towards them.

What end of the Parish? If in Slidell, the physiofit locations are where I send most of my patients.

Renew PT if in Mandeville, ask for Jason. Worked for him as a Tech for years, guy cares and will discuss and help you through your injuries and is extremely personable.
Onto this comment…
As someone in PT school currently, I understand your gripe but PTAs work and can carry your plan out along with adjusting treatment. They cannot do initial evaluations (your “one time you see them”) and must continually report to their PT. Yes maybe your moms PT should have done more, but normally you prescribe your treatment and are handling other patients with hands-on treatment while someone like your mom is doing exercises. Now if she needs additional guidance that’s when the PT/PTA should monitor more closely.
All in all, it isn’t a scam or racket and when you need it eventually you’ll understand why it’s such an important profession.
Rant over sorry to sidetrack from thread..

Not what they were doing. They were goofing off. This occured at 3 different places.

You described a patient mill.
Like zaba said, go cash based or find a clinic that does 1 on 1 treatments (becoming more and more rare unless cash based).

We finally found one that did one on one treatment. The others she was referred to by her physicians.
