I’ve started back in the gym after a 6 month hiatus. I’ve noticed I’ve had some pretty sever crashes every single afternoon and I’m tired (intended) of it.

I’m not overweight. Eat relatively clean. Stay active every day whether that the gym or sports. It doesn’t make sense until I started researching the glucose and insulin relationship.

Without getting into the weeds, I’m pretty amateur when it comes to the metabolic side of managing health and wellness. I’m not trying to lose weight at all, and it seems like most dietitians / health coaches market to this need. I just want to improve my diet and align it with my goals and lifestyle.

Just got blood drawn to check a pretty complete panel for metabolic metrics, hormone levels, etc.

Is a health coach who I want to see? Finally go get a primary care doc focused on diet? TIA.

How old are you? Be real with your expectations. There are days that I push myself really hard and then hit a wall. My workout days can be excessive so I can’t be surprised.

I've used Levels to monitor and improve my metabolic health. Having a CGM really help fine tune my diet as everyone reacts differently to different foods. Lots of good info here to help guide your food choices. For example, I found that I had a pretty mild response to ice cream vs a cookie or cake. So if I wanted to eat something sweet, but not have a huge spike, ice cream was the way to go. I also saw how my sleep was effected if I had a bad metabolic day.

Having constant feedback also drove me to make better decisions as I wanted to keep my scores high.

Levels Health

More interactive / self learning, and I enjoyed experimenting to understand how my body reacts to certain foods.

You wrote a lot here but didn't actually provide any information... what is your daily routine? Workouts, typical diet, caloric intake, your age/weight/etc.

Also, and this will be unpopular, I don't think the glucose/insulin release relationship is that big of a deal for the average person. I think your daily habits are more important. I would recommend logging everything you do and see if you can find a trend that is leading to you hitting a wall in the afternoon.

I've used Levels

Thanks for recommending this. I was listening to the head person from Levels talk, and that’s what brought me to create this thread.

Glad to hear some positive feedback I may sign up with them and give it a test run.

I’m 33 and around 195lbs.

5-6 days at the gym. Most days are strength training, but I may need to start doing more high volume, lower weight cardio days.

Diet is pretty clean as I mentioned. I don’t know how to list it in a short paragraph. But there’s zero fast food, very seldom any high sugar/high carb foods, no sodas.. mostly a high protein and good fats/carbs diet with fruits and veggies at every meal.

This all sounds good, man. Have you tried just scaling back your workouts? 5-6 days is a lot and for 95% of people is overkill - hence why you're feeling drained. You need to have time to recover, but more importantly: where do you go from there? You're basically maxed out as-is.

I would scale back to 3 full body days and just add some long walks on your off days and see if that help your energy levels.
