Anyone had success with this procedure to the point where you only needed the one initial RFA and it did the trick? Looking at my second within 10 months. Have heard some people get one every year and insurance covers it.

The nerve typically regenerates, so unlikely. But the relief is worth it.

The physician that did mine years ago told he does it differently and kinda lays the probe down beside the nerve severing a longer area as opposed to essentially snipping it. Told his theory it is harder for the nerve branches to regenerate.

That was ten years ago…. Haven’t needed a 2nd one yet.

My dad had several spaced about a month apart. They said the nerves would probably grow back in a year or two but it's been six years and he hasn't had to get another one. It didn't relieve his back pain but it stopped the sciatica.
