Gonna tell my wife I want one for Christmas. Any recommendation on lower or full back massager that doesn’t require any manual work? I can just lay on it or wear it or something to help with lower back soreness/tightness?

TENS 7000 Digital TENS Unit with Accessories $37 on Amazon. I've had 2 back surgeries and use this when my back gets sore and tight. Tens and 2 200mg of ibuprofen. If you also have a bulging disk that's bothering you off and on then use a 1 gallon ziplock with ice after using the tens.

Good Luck

How old and fit/strong are you? Provide some phys details of your current condition and historical back problems/injuries if any

In all sincerity - try sitting on the floor for 20 minutes, building up in 5 minute increments. You will need to change your leg positions, roll over on to your stomach, get up for a while to take a break, etc. I’ve begun to make a conscious effort to do this going on ~6 months. It is a great stretch/light training exercise for your back. I’ve encouraged my whole family to take their morning coffee sitting on the floor. This morning I woke with back stiffness from yesterday’s squat workout, my first in a week or so. Now sitting on the floor for appx an hour taking coffee and reading. Give it a try

I’m 44 yo, 5’-8” 193 lbs. fairly fit, luckily quite mobile (ie stretchy) for my age

I’m 40 with no previous back injuries or current pain. I am in pretty good shape. Lift 3-4 days/week (PPSA)and run a few days a week usually at least one 10 mile run per week. Just the exercise and chasing around 2 toddlers wears on me and I just want something to give me some lower back relief when I’m just laying in bed before I go to sleep.

i had i think a similar nagging pain type in my low back in my early crossfit days. turns out it was that my glutes/hamstrings/piriformis were tight and "angry" from the xfit intensity. i learned lacrosse ball self-deep tissue massage and it solved that after a few months

now similar back tightness/soreness is usually loosened with floor sitting which stretches the back. i hope you find some relief

Go see a physical therapist. If you’re in good shape overall your back shouldn’t be hurting. Something is off that can likely be corrected by someone who knows what to look for.

You’re telling me that if I’m in good shape I can’t get sore muscles or my back can’t get tired and use a little rub after a long day? I’m just looking for something relaxing for the end of the day. I’m not looking to have my spine realigned.
