Looking to buy my first road bike

I enjoy riding bikes and rode a Specialized hybrid bike around campus while I was at LSU.
I’ve been looking into moving into a road bike specifically and have local shops with the following options:
1) Specialized Allez (AL frame, carbon fork, Shimano Claris)
2) Trek Domane AL2 (AL frame, carbon fork, Shimano Claris)
3) Cannondale Optimo Sora (AL frame, carbon fork, Shimano Sora)
The plan is just to ride casually and in group rides, these bikes should be more than capable to complete longer distance rides as well.
All three are about the same price, between 750-850. Any cyclists on the board have any experience with any of these bikes or opinions on them?

GIANT makes all of the parts for the bikes you listed and are a few $hundred$ cheaper. No regrets, otherwise the Trek you listed is a good ride.

I own 4 bikes and they’re all expensive Felt bikes. But the Specialized Allez is about as good of an aluminum bike as you can buy. I’d personally prefer a pre-owned Felt or Cervelo Carbon frame in good shape, but for what you’re doing the Allez is the best option of the 3 you provided.

Bikes direct is your best deal, for entry level.

I'll second this. It's a good enough frame that if you get more serious, you could upgrade the components and wheels and have a damn good bike even for faster rides.

Got the local bike shop putting together the Allez in my size. Hopefully get to take it for a test ride here in the next day or so. Had a Trek/Specialized dealer recommend the allez over the Domane as well.
I’ve ridden the Domane a few times now so I’ll have a good comparison I hope.

I have a specialized Allez sport and have been more than happy with it. I don’t think you can do better than the Allez at that price point.
