Leg press and reverse hack squat machine weight loading

Is it necessary to keep the weights balanced on each side? Everything that’s being pushed is connected in a single piece so I have never thought anything of it.

A plate or 2 not on you, but you are putting stress on the equipment. Also if you overload one side it will flip over. Seen that in person.

Unbalanced loading can mess up a machine.
Sure a 25 probably won’t, but it’s not a good habit.

Keep the machine balanced. Seems like logic and good manners.
