Learn me about splitting workouts between morning and afternoon

I live in a brand new building and they finally opened the gym in the last week or so. It's more or less a hotel/apartment type gym you think of. 50 lb dumbbells, treadmill, nice bikes, some machines, so on. I don't need to use it for lifting as I go to a nice gym after work, but I am thinking about starting doing cardio in the mornings just to have more time in the evenings.
I've never done splitting up like this so fill me in. Should I just keep the same cardio I'm doing for the most part or is there an optimal way to proceed? How long do you warmup in the evenings before your lift if you prescribe to this method? By doing this, I should have 10-15 more minutes I can add. For reference, I usually run or row for about 15 minutes before my workouts, 8 min or so mile pace or 2500-3000 meters on the rower depending on how I'm feeling that day.

A 5 min row/run with specific stretching targeting the muscle groups you are working out is sufficient along with standard lift warmups.
..anything more is excessive and begins to turn your warmup into a cardio routine before your lifts.

Yea your warm up seems excessive. 2-3 min of rowing or jump rope and some active stretching is all you need.
As far as splitting, that depends. What are you goals and what is your morning routine like specifically diet?

As of now, that's not a warmup, it's my cardio session.

My goal is to keep getting stronger and stay in shape. I'm not super serious like you, but I am at the gym 4-5 days a week. If I go 4 it's because I'm playing golf most of the time or I'd go on that day. My diet is clean. No junk food. Meat and vegetables (real ones not corn or potatoes or carbs that pass as veggies) usually between 1-8.
Really I'd just like to do this because it's a 30 second walk down there and it'd save me 15-30 minutes in the afternoon so I'll get home earlier.
