Ketone esters + dextrose/high carb energy gels for mtn race

Any of you guys ever do the jet fuel thing for a run? I'm woefully under trained for a 15k mountain race (next Sat) that is 4.5 miles straight up (about 2200 ft). I've done it and similar races before in better shape and still felt like I was dragging arse.

I ordered a bottle of ketone ester (30g of BHB in 2oz bottle) and some caffeine /carby SIS gels and dextrose (glucose) gummies.

I'm fat adapted and train fasted/in ketosis a lot. So I'm not overly concerned about the BHB. And I've done a similar thing with BHB salts and dextrose.

But am I going to crap myself? Peter Attia has done this before but he's a freak.

So don’t ever mix Ketone Esters with caffeine. I made that mistake when running a 100-miler. The Ketone Ester has a 10x effect on the caffeine and will make you goofy as hell and dehydrate you. I had to bail at mile 70 bc of dehydration. I finished the 100 I did in February without any Esters fwiw.

And the only reason I'm doing this is I haven't been able to run much with the smoke and heat and kids and travel. I'm doing a similar distance and elevation train on Tuesday am, which will tell me how hosed I am.
