I've used 5x5 in the past, and other lifting plans. Goals are not to get huge, just a little more muscular and cut down on fat. I'm 5'7" and around 185 right now. I'd like to drop to around 170-175. Basically, every year from around Thanksgiving to around now, I just quit. There are too many things going on around the holidays and year end work when I come back to devote meaningful time to working out. So I end up back in this spot of getting that itch again, and this year I'm looking for a more focused routine.

5x5 appealed to me because I liked the 3 days a week structure, so something along those lines. I know I'm not in well enough shape to start that back up, but maybe something I can follow for 6-8 weeks then get back into that. A beginner program just to shake the rust off and get back into it.

I guess I should have mentioned I'm going to the gym on my lunch break. Tons of free weights and machines to pick from. They also offer some classes I may jump in to from time to time.

greyskull LP with 3 conditioning days.

LINK

Folder with all greyskull programs

or do the Kinobody Warrior shedding program or Advanced Fat loss program

kinobody nutrition

Nutrition is going to make the biggest difference. With Kinobody choose one of the 3 programs, greek god, AFL or warrior shedding. Greyskull is the better program overall but if you only go at lunch, I would prolly choose the kinobody program as its shorter. Do some other form of activity on rest days.

I remember your thread from last year, and I was legit going to try it. Life got in the way. Yeah, I know, excuses excuses. But I gotta get back in the gym now. I might give it a whirl this summer if you talk me into it.

Interesting. I read through most of that thread, and it seems like something I could stick with.

I'm not punching a clock. I can take 90 minutes easily if I have to. I might even start going with a coworker who goes every afternoon around 1:30 or 2:00 because the gym is cleared out. His boss is cool with it because he knows he's getting his work done and knows when he will be out. Mine is the same way.

Then I would choose the greyskull program. And yea I have the same setup at work, but my boss is in Houston so I don't have anybody watching me and as long as my work done, doesn't matter. I just assumed because when people find out how my work is they think it's nuts so I just assume it's rare

I got some really good strength gains from it. I just decided to try out Westside finally. Been wanting to do it for years.
