I’ve read that maintainenance calories are 14/15 per pound of body weight depending on activity level, and weight loss goals should be 10/12 calories per pound.

What do the CICO experts of the OT think about this? Looking to drop a modest amount of weight over the long run. Definitely not looking for a crash diet.

Honestly just start somewhere and then tweak it once your weight starts going up or down too much. Another way is to get a DEXA scan and figure out your BMR. Eat a macro profile 70/25/5 based on total calories. I would say 12x BW for maintenance is a good start point.

select lean gains option. But roughly 12.5xBW is a good starting point.
