How do y’all go about getting stronger without bloating / pudging out? I’m fairly trim and trying to get stronger, but I feel I’m not eating enough.

The problem is I’m someone who’s face gets so bloated and fat any time I gain any weight. I’m not the best looking dude, but the one thing I got going for me is a lean, angular face. Any time I add weight, though, it immediately goes to shite. Back in high school when I was lifting like crazy, doing creatine and eating like a horse, I was in great shape, but my face looked like I was a fattie.

It seems the typical way people gain strength is with the bulk then cut cycle. Is there any other way to do this to avoid the excessive fat face phase? Any types of heavy calorie foods I can focus on that don’t bloat?

Any help appreciated!

You need to track your calories and macros. Put yourself in a slight caloric surplus and start there. I don’t really know how to calculate the macros, so I just use the Carbon app. You can build strength without gaining size, but you will hit a wall eventually. Track your nutrition so that you limit how much body fat you put on.

500ml of intravenous Nesquik with BCAAs

As mentioned previously, figure out your daily calorie intake as best as you can, eat about 300 calories above that plus about 1g protein per bodyweight

If all that fails: cocaine and tren.

I lift 5 days a week and track everything. Been in a surplus for the majority of this year and just reached the heaviest weight of my lifetime. I've gotten stronger but my belly has definitely gotten bigger too. I have 2 issues that I think (hope) would solve this: 1. Quit drinking alcohol on weekends. 2. Get more steps in. I have an office job so I'm pretty sedentary all day (~2-3k steps per day). Maybe consider those?

10k steps a day and 8 hours of sleep are the best fat burners known to man.

i say that and i struggle with steps too many days due to job also.

100% agree.

To the OP, I generally eat low carb, or at least lower carb than I used to, and I try to plan higher carb days with my lifting. I don't use pre-workouts and anything else but protein shakes, so it feels like the extra carbs have a positive effect most workouts. I guess I'm technically carb cycling, but it feels more casual to me.

I know it was brought to attention by a Instagram whore, but that routine of walking 30 minutes at a 12 incline at 3 mph will burn some serious calories.
