How to break workout boredom?

I have been consistently working out for over a year and a half now. At first I saw great results which was very motivating. I am to the point now to where I don't see the results at all which I know is normal. I workout at a pretty basic gym so I cant really vary my workouts to much. How do the baws of the Health/Fitness board deal with workout boredom?

Setting goals to increase squat, bench and deadlift helped me. The idea of a constant challenge to work towards in terms of numbers is a big driver for me.
That will also help the plateau with results you describe. Have you done a linear strength program?

We usually don't because like was stated, we chase performance goals and know if we reach them we will have physique improvements that comes along with that

Look into stronglifts 5x5. There's a free app. It does a good job of "resetting" you mentally, imo. It's very basic, and the first couple weeks you feel like you aren't doing enough, but stick to it.

Watch TV while doing cardio

How long had you been out of the gym and how put of shape were you? Seems like you should still be making gains if you were starting from a pretty low point after 18 months. First year or so shedding fat and then trying to start getting some strength and physique goals the last 6 months or so.
