Headaches after shoulder day

Whenever I work shoulders at the gym I get a pretty bad headache later that day/next day. It’s like clock work and I get a huge knot on each side of my upper traps.
Doing any type of shoulder press is the worse. I can do the exercises just fine but I pay for it later.
Does this happen to anyone? Tips? I’ve assumed it was weight, form, free/machine, speed, etc. I generally try to do few quick tris and shoulder exercises after I’ve done chest.
Maybe skip shoulders if I’m hitting since chest works them? I’ve tried on a separate day but same results.

Do you hold your breath while attempting overhead lifts? Not really sure how to help here.
The knots can be worked out with lacrosse balls or band pull aparts before you start lifting. Work in some barbell trap release in your daily mobility and will help open up your neck and shoulders too.

Sounds like it could be a few things.
1) Are you warming up enough and getting those traps amd shoulders loose?
2) You're straining too hard. Maybe drop back in weight for a while.
3) Maybe you have an injury or something going on in your back and you're compensating in your shoulders.
4) Probably need to get checked out by your Dr.
And the Ole Miss fan might be on to something. Straining and holding your breath could cause a headache.
