That's what I figured out. You've got my email. Let me know if you decide to make your way out there.

Just finished a lift at LA Fitness. Not sure I like it tbh. Where should I try Wednesday?

What didn't you like about it? That may be a way to give you a better place to try.

I'm not sure. Might have been a little too commercialized and crowded (obviously I know). It is pretty damn cheap though.

Not saying I wouldn't want to lift there, I just want to check out a few other places before I decide.

I think someone mentioned it already, but how far are you from the star? It's only a little more than a year old I think and from what I've seen is really nice. Don't think it's too expensive either. Might as well check it out. Even if you hate the actual gym it'd still be neat to go up there and see that whole facility.

I may go check it out Wednesday. I'm about 15 minutes away. Not too bad.

I found my ideal gym in Lifetime Fitness in Plano. The indoor tennis facility is fricking amazing. This gym has everything one can need as well as the state of the art tennis facility. At $129 per month it is worth it for me as I would need a gym membership and would have to join a tennis club in the area. Now I don't have to worry about it that.

Also, my office is relocating to buildings right across the street from it and we're looking in to getting a corporate discount that would reduce the monthly fee significantly. Unbelievably excited about this place.

Nice. I converted to Lifetime two years ago and havent looked back.

Its not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Its top of the line on everything, plus my whole family uses the pool and activities. Hell, even the food is great

That location is unreal. I will go there sometimes, but mostly use the one off 121 and Watters in Allen.

Sidenote: If you will be working in that area, you are going to be within 10 minutes of a ton of great food. Have you been to Legacy Hall yet? If not, look it up and go. Its unreal. Opened 6 months ago.

I guess it’s expensive. But I was paying $65 per month for a gym and $60+ To play tennis at the country club back home. I can now get both for $130 with better facilities and location to work/living. So worth it. And with corporate discount it’ll be cut in half. I would be the happiest person on earth for a gym and tennis for ~$70.

And no I haven’t been to Legacy Hall yet. I believe I’m going to rent in that area as well since apparently I’d get eaten alive by tolls if I tried to live in Dallas.

I use to live in that area by lifetime and it’s great. I had everything I needed within 15 minutes of me. And that was before Legacy West.

Park and Preston has a ton of stuff. On one corner I remember I had Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Market Street, and Kroger.

Also they have a World of Beer and Brickhouse Tavern. Brunch at Hash House is amazing

Don’t you have to also pay court fees at Lifetime? Beautiful faculty but no way I’m payung court fees on top of membership. I play out of Lakes Tennis Academy on Legacy.

Bump

Lakes Tennis? I’ll have to look into it.

So I’ve switched from $160 per month at lifetime to $30 per month at LA Fitness. Place sucks though. Only 2 squat racks at most locations? Always crowded.

Would like to find a gritty gym around here somewhere but I doubt they have any out here in the burbs.

This is where I go. It has what I need and I pay $15/month. I don't need a basketball court or swimming pool since I'm a 5am guy.

Lol I forgot about this thread. I stayed at LA Fitness for 2 weeks before switching to Cowboys Fit. I like the place a lot. Solid morning crowd.

How is Cowboys Fit in the evenings if you’ve ever been then? I am sure it is the busiest time but have been contemplating joining for months just don’t like competing for a squat rack or a bench. Thanks

I went a couple of times around 5pm this week actually. It was crowded. Waited 5 minutes for a squat rack. A couple benches were open though. It was really busy.

Crowd was significantly thinner around 7.

I can see if I have some guest passes or something if you wanna check it out man.
