It will help a bit, but thyroid disorders usually only distort metabolism by a couple hundred calories per day in the most severe cases, so it's not a magic bullet where you'll just be skinny without trying. I certainly still struggle with weight. You should notice more energy and be able to work out more, work out harder and enjoy it more though.

So what are you doing to lose weight?

Everything and nothing, if that makes sense
I lift 4x a week and go for 30-45m walks most days. I generally eat a pretty nutritious diet throughout the week, and loosen up a bit on the weekends. Most on this board are very familiar with me as I've been 'on a weight loss journey' since 2011 and most of it's been posted on here over there years. I'm notorious here for excuses and just not getting it done like I should, like the majority of Americans.
When I say I struggle with weight, I don't mean because of the Hashimoto's. It's mental just like anyone else. Emotional eating, boredom eating. etc. My maintenance calories are probably a little lower than average for my height/weight, but nothing really significant.

Like the majority of Americans? Like everyone else? Hate to tell you but those are excuses. Make a goal, stick to a path and MAKE IT A PRIORITY!! You can do it if you make it a priority. Join a gym. Surround yourself with like minded people. Nothing motivates like results.

I have lost 100lb (and have kept it off for a decade) and I can safely say that, after a while, that shite fades. It's discipline that I lack.
And you must've not read where I said I already work out 4x a week.
But yes, it's all excuses. Just like everyone else who is fat. I make no bones about it. The bottom line is o clearly just don't care enough to make it a priority.

If you have hashimotos you need to avoid all gluten all the time. No exceptions. You should at least eat keto. Also look into carnivore.

Myth. There are no known dietary interventions that have shown to reverse or reduce Hashimotos.
I've done keto, I've done strict Paleo, including very strict AIP. Makes zero difference to my hormone levels or antibodies.
