So a buddy and I want to do an October workout challenge. Problem is we’re both into lifting so not sure if a standard cardio challenge is really in line with our goals fitness wise. Wondering if anyone has any good ideas for a month long competition that doesn’t require me getting skinnier than I already am, particularly something that might involve lifting. We were thinking about a month long push up challenge but looking for something that might be a little more varied and leave more room for me to pub stomp his arse.

I don't know how much you or him can lift, but maybe figure out a goal of total amount of weight to lift in the month, something seemingly challenging?

I have no idea what a challenging weight would be, but seems like something that would fit your idea

for example:

Yesterday I lifted a total of 15,100 lbs, which is a lot for me, but say I avg 10,000 lbs per session.

Maybe set a goal of lifting around 3 mil lbs for the month?

Do the Bring Sally Up challenge. Either push-up or squats. See who can make it first the whole song in pushup or in squats start with empty bar and see who can do most weight by end of month.

Sounds like something cardio-based is exactly what y’all need to do.

Maybe 100m dash contest? Who can improve their time the best? That way you don’t lose muscle mass from too much aerobic exercise and can actually supplement lifting with sprinting.

You could do the 10,000 push up challenge which has been completed by many of us here.

If 10k pushups seems too daunting because of your current program, you could do something like the PLP Challenge (TNation) which is a 60 day challenge, but can be cut in half if need be.

Try 3k chin ups to start. That's 100/day for a month.

I really like this idea. Problem is everyday is gonna be leg day

And we wouldn’t be setting a goal necessarily, only goal is to win at the end of the month.

Lot of good suggestions in this thread

I'm going to do this with a group of friends.

Triple 1500 challenge.
31 days of october
1500 pushups
1500 crunches/situps
1500 lunges/squat jumps
50 a day of each allowing 1 off day.

In a addition to normal workouts
