Does anyone take this as a supplement? I have inherited blood pressure issues from my parents and I am on 2 different HBP medications. I have my weight and BMI under control (somewhat, but need to do more), and my blood work done recently looked good, but I want to lower my BP. Some have touted the benefit of taking Flax seed for BP.

I take flaxseed oil gelcaps and have for years. Started about 10 years ago when I found out too much fish oil is bad for the prostate. Get all the same benefits. Btw I am 60 with a bp of 122/68. I'd say something is working.

I started putting it in smoothies about 5 years ago. I feel like the smoothies make me feel healthier but not sure if it’s the flaxseed, chia, turmeric, kale, fruits, placebo, etc

Eating them whole can help with bowel movements.

What's the touted mechanism of flax re: hypertension?
This isn't necessarily on point, but the Omega 3 in flax and other plant-based PUFAs, with the exception of algae oil (oddly enough) isn't very bioavailable to humans (at all).
I'm guessing the touted flax component is just fiber which supposedly does XYZ. (Or a dubious AHA epidemiological study.)
