Anyone here suffer from hyperhydrosis? I used to not really be a heavy sweater, but now every year that goes by it’s worse and worse. And, I’m probably in better shape than I’ve ever been in. If I do something active like run or play tennis I can lose 5 pounds or more. I’ve had to go to hospital twice for IV fluids after sweating so bad. Just curious is anyone else suffers from this?

When I was younger, yes. It slowed down the older I got.

Anxiety maybe?

Excessive sweating is a symptom of Atrial fibrillation.
What is your heart rate?

Resting heart rate is usually between 56-60bpm. Moderate exercise I usually hover around 110-120. When I’m really exerting myself, I’m about 150-160.

I don’t suffer from anxiety at all. I’ve been doing some research, but not much out there that says anything other than it’s something you have to manage.

This is iddly the third completely unrelated discussion I've had on this topic today.

Other two were in the context of triathlon training. I drank 97oz of water (some w electrolytes) on my long run this am. And I was talking to wife about a sweat calculation because I looked as though I'd been swimming even though I kept my HR mostly in aerobic rang.

Then my brother texted me his numbers out of the blue. We'd never really discussed this. He said:

quote:

It’s crucial. Every 1% of lost mass during exercise in the heat leads to 3+ beats/ min. Over long course that can kill a race

That's a crazy HR jump.
