Anybody ever get eczema? My wife developed a case about 2 months ago for the first time and even after 3 visits to the dermatologist, she is miserable.
She has tried creams, and diet changes to figure out what the culprit may be. This has been ongoing since the end of October but just seems to be getting worse. The worst part is lack of sleep because of the itching.
Her internist had her do bloodwork yesterday and we are awaiting the results. Any guidance or sharing of experiences would be welcome.

I've gone through similar for a few years now. I haven't had a bad flare in awhile, but I did have a slight one during the holidays. If I overeat or drink too much, I get it. My labs were normal and I've been told it just happens, but I wonder if it's hormonal. I use Dove unscented soap, All detergent, CeraVe lotion to keep my skin hydrated. I have prescription cream for the flares, and I take Benadryl when it's bad and affecting my sleep.

Hopefully your wife will get some relief soon.

How do you tell the difference between eczema and psoriasis? I have one but haven't been to the doctor. I suspect psoriasis because I get arthritis symptoms too at times.

Thanks TG. I know she cut out Dove soap and keeps her skin hydrated with prescription creams. It's now a process of elimination with food, drink and other things to avoid. She looks very wrinkled in the face and eye areas in the morning more in the last couple of weeks. I hate seeing her struggle through this.

I honestly don't know the answer to that. I believe both of them have similar effects on your body. Time to see your dermatologist.
