How do you manage it?

Carnivorous diet supposedly can almost eliminate most side effects of crohn’s and diverticulitis.

I have found the shittier I eat, the less impact it has. Whenever I eat something really healthy, it flares up. But that's not sustainable for a long life.

Find a good colon doctor, had a friend that was misdiagnosed and had to have a portion of her colon removed due to pain.

If you have about 3 episodes best to just have surgery.Perforation with peritonitis is life threatening.Actually saw people die from it in my ICU days.
I had about 6 episodes, only thing saved me was my NP wife would order me antibiotics a nd I would do clear liquids a few days as soon as I felt discomfort.
I had adhesions from leakage which caused the surgery to take twice as long.
It was worth it,I had irritable bowel for years, alternating diarrhea and constipation.
All that went away after I recovered.Been 14 years now and I’ve been regular as a clock.

After an episode, it takes a very long time for your colon to heal. Eat bland, easily digestible, low-fiber diet until several days after the pain has completely subsided, and then very slowly (like over the course of weeks) increase the fiber content back to normal.
Once back to normal, focus on getting enough fiber every day.
