Comite and Hooper Trail

Just looking for tips on these 2 trails. Going for a run this afternoon.
Last week I ran the trail in the Bonnet Carre spillway and was eaten alive by deerfly and the banana spiders were creepy AF. Hoping for a better experience on this trail.
I use to mountain bike these trails years ago, so I am somewhat familiar with them.

I’d strongly recommend somewhere other than Hooper. Went on a run there 1.5 years ago with my gf and we came across a couple of teens on a pipeline with one of them tossing an extended-clip pistol in the air. No one around and they didn’t look like the most trustworthy group. Nothing happened but I was pretty nervous walking past them. Also came across deer corn piles on another section. I’ll never go back to that hell hole

Went to both last year with my bike.
Hooper seemed to be under construction and I constantly fought spiders.
Comite was well maintained and fun to ride.

I would recommend riding those trails over running them. If you are willing the beast up in St. Francisville is a great trail to run

I ran 3 laps in reverse direction on Saturday. No biting flies and no spider webs on the trail. It was pretty tough and like the St. Francisville trail, I could never get into a good rhythm. I still enjoyed it and felt like I got a lot out of it.
The St. Francisville trail is extremely rooty, more so than the Comite trail. I did Beast for a Day back in May and it was pretty damn tough. Quads were toast.
