I think you have to go used. I can’t imagine finding a duel suspension bike for under 2 grand, let alone a grand. I’ve been looking at all kinds of bikes lately and all the better brands are way more.

I wouldn't even bother buying full-suspension under $2500. For $1000 you can get a 30lb. full suspension bike with garbage components or a pretty nice lightweight hardtail with high end components. I doubt you're going to be downhilling the Rockies on this thing anyway so full suspension is pretty pointless anyway. That's my two cents.

I have a specialized rock hopper sport 29. Only front suspension, I usually keep the front suspension locked most of the time. Great bike about $700ish

Just like Burt said, getting dual suspension at that price point will be a challenge unless you go used. I’d get a hardtail at that price point. You’ll be able to get a better bike.

Specialized has a lot of rebates right now. I just got a Specialized Fuse 29 for $1500...retails for $ 1675.

Diamondback has a full suspension model for that price. Not sure of the component quality
