I’ve searched the board up and down for recommendations regarding hrt/trt docs in the BR area. Last I found was from 12’ so wanted to get some fresh opinions.

Why do you need HRT?
Not a douchy response, genuinely want to know what you plan to gain.

Not sure if I do or not. Some friends that are experiencing similar health inconveniences have taken the plunge and it proved positive for them. I’m finished having kids.
Would be interested in seeing if it could help..
1. Fatigue
2. Libido
3. Motivation in gym. Like in youth.
4. Stronger recovery from physical activity.
5. Better sleep, waking up refreshed after 8 hrs.

Can it help? Sure. BUT:
ALL hormones in your body work on a feedback loop system. If you are hormonally imbalanced you are much better served figuring out how to get levels back naturally. When you take T or HGH, it works- it works extremely well, unfortunately it also hinders your body's natural production of both hormones.
How hormones work
If you Google HRT, tons of dangers for women pop up. This is because in the early 2000s there was a major women's health study that showed increased risk of breast cancer, ovarian disease, all-cause mortality when women use various hormone replacement therapy. The reason there's no data on this for men is because the pharmaceutical companies won't do studies on men after the results for the women came out.

There is 40 years of data of test use in men, not the same as women.
OP ask your doctor for blood test on testosterone, estrogen, free test, and sgbh. If results show lower range test speak to your doctor about treatment. Trt centers are usually a scam but some GPs are old school and won't do anything so you might have to if you are within range but on the very low end. For reference the low end of the range is what an 80 year old should be producing. You should be in your age group range.
If hormones aren't low, then don't get on anything

Oh and test doesn't make pharma companies shite. They don't give a shite about it as it's available as a generic and price can not be controlled as the synthesis of the powder can be done cheap and obtained easily as hell from China with fda purity guidelines

Thanks for the advice. Hoping someone can point me in the direction of a GP that is familiar with this. I don’t have a PCP right now so in the market in the BR area.

This is an interesting suggestion. Can you tell me more about your experience? I just wouldn’t have thought this was a strong suit in her practice.

As a RN of 35 years I personally wouldn’t go to anyone but an endocrinologist.Endocrine system is very complicated.Quite a few PCPs and Internists can manage diabetes, but when you start talking about hurt/trt that’s another story.Just my 2 cents.

I believe Dr. Flood has experience in endocrinology. I've only seen her on my first few visits.
Started going to her two years ago. On the initial visit I met with her and the Nurse Practitioner. Kady is who I usually see when I go now for my checkups. I explained to her my symptoms, mostly was feeling lethargic all the time. She initially thought it to be a thyroid issue, but later checked my test levels and noted it was low. I had never given it a thought before she brought it up.
I've been on it for a year now and my numbers are back in the normal range, and I feel a whole lot better. I'm really pleased with their clinic. They actually sit and talk with you about any issues and answer all of your questions. They aren't just there to rush in and rush out.
I go every 4-5 months for lab work. They check my test levels, and some other things associated with it that I cant remember off hand.
