I’m just a middle aged never was that enjoys working out. I’ve heard more people talking about foam rolling, and was wondering if anyone has any good routines and has seen positive benefits of incorporating foam rolling regularly.

It’s good for the mind “letting go” of your tight muscles so you are looser. It’s good for pre workout and that’s about it.
It’s extremely effective but temporary.
I like to get my IT band, upper back, lats, quads, chest, and piriformis.

Foam rolling is great, but it’s not all you need to do. Look at limber 11 for a more complete warm up.

Thanks for the limber eleven recommendation. Any other recommendations?

foam rolling was the missing maintenance for my low back tightness when i started running again appx 2 months ago. i keep multiple foam rollers and lacrosse balls scattered across my personal universe. im a 40 yo xfitter and recent runner and they are a constant maintenance presence.
i focus on the glutes, hams, back (low back specifically), and IT band
