Bad case of Strep Throat

Guys I’m looking for any kind of advice with strep. I’m on day 3. Throat is absolutely killing me. Staying with a fever and the cold sweats. Can’t eat. And having to deal with the pain to drink anything. Went to urgent care yesterday and they confirmed it was strep prescribed me some amoxicillin and sent me on my way.
I need some advice from anybody who’s dealt with strep. I’d rather have Covid again than this. TIA

Some home remedies on-line include taking raw honey by a spoonful and that is suppose to help with the pain.
Warm tea with honey is also advised.
Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with water and spray to the back of the throat is claimed to help relieve the pain. Probably works similar to Chloroseptic spray that has numbing properties.

I used to get chronic strep before I had my tonsils removed at 23. I used to drink hot lemon honey tea. Would sooth my throat for a few min at least. Better than never.

Had it last week. Fought it for a week.
Finally got a steroid shot and antibiotics. Should have done that day 1

You could always see if they would send you in some viscous lidocaine to help with the throat pain.
