Anyone have experience with symptomatic ectopic heart beats?

Started getting what I thought were PVCs back in mid October (in reality they’re mainly PACs which are even more common I guess).
Full disclosure I was pretty stressed at the time working in hospital where I had multiple patients pass, was coaching my daughters soccer team, and raising 3 young kids in this shitshow. I also stressed out about them bad when they developed and slept very poorly including not at all for a few nights. Sleep was 4-5 hours or less for late October and almost all of November
Cardiologist says they’re completely benign. Wore a 3 week monitor and Have had echo which just shows the same murmur I’ve always had but heart completely normal otherwise. Had stress test and was given excellent fitness level and recovery. None really during the recovery which indicates even more that they are benign. All my labs and electrolytes looked pretty much normal.
Cardiologist basically blowing me off now. Says he doesn’t treat them normally and to be assured I’m fine. Although he did give me some low dose beta blockers that I requested to maybe help the symptoms as I’ve heard they can help. Only problem is they knock me on my arse as I have Normal BP of under 120/80 and resting HR usually right around 60 give or take.
I did have covid 2 months before they started but nobody seems to think it had anything to do with it. I was back in the gym 2 weeks after.
They’re not painful but damn if they don’t feel like your heart pauses then a thump like crazy. I’ve been getting hundreds a day and it can just be miserable and extremely distracting. It’s fricked with my quality of life pretty damn badly. The main treatment is reassurance that they will eventually likely go away but it’s going on almost three months in a week or so.
Even kinda anxious about working out as they always seem to act up REALLY bad later in day after heavy lifts (maybe the cortisol released). Ive done triathlons and heavy lifting my entire life.
I’m 5’8 and low 160s and not fat at all, have always been in damn good cardio shape and strong as hell for my size. These things make me feel like I’m 80 at 40 though.
Been trying the beta blockers (propranolol 12.5 2x daily) for a week and taking pure magnesium in the evening. Been trying to meditate a bit as well to hopefully calm body down.
Anyone get over something like this?
Sorry for the rant.

Based on the frenzied tone and length of your post, perhaps the pvc’s aren’t the primary problem but instead anxiety/panic attacks and you could consider getting that treated

This is true to an extent. They have absolutely created a cycle of worry which I’ve learned happens a lot with these things even after the reassurance. I’ve been speaking to a counselor about them. Also a NP at a psych.
Both agree now though that it isn’t a generalized anxiety thing but more specific to these symptoms. It is very true that my mood is highly influenced by how bad these things are on a particular day. I suppose they will go when they’re ready to go.
ETA: thanks for the honest post though. If a stranger on TD can see that then it’s probably playing a bigger part than I realize
just extremely frustrated with them.

I've had them all my life. Sometimes more often than others. I've never paid much attention to them tbh.

I had the same. Joined a Facebook group and have learned quite a bit and rarely have any.
Sleep, reduced stress, no alcohol or coffee along with taking supplements have all helped me.

Thanks man. I actually got off of the meds as they had me dead on my feet. Had a horrible run of them as I was coming off of them with one every 3rd beat during church and dinner on Christmas Eve.
Kinda just said to myself just to take it and grow accustomed to it because this is about as bad as it’ll ever get. Been less for the last few days. Started this breathing program that has you breath slower and more shallow as we tend to over breath when we’re stressed. Seems positive so far.

Beta blockers and subsequent low blood pressure can cause this, exercising hard on betas can cause this as well. Even low doses of BB can really mess with your rhythm. BBs turn folks into zombies so I am not surprised to hear your comments.
