I had one about a year ago, not as bad as expected. Have the nurse shoot up some extra numbing gel in your pee hole.

Frick! The thought of anyone ever jamming something up my pee hole always freaked me out. Thank God I'll be knocked out, but damnit...I'm not looking forward to waking up from it either.

Had a stone removed that way. Worst part was the stent for 3 weeks

It’s pretty fricking torturous if you have meatal stenosis.

I have been thru some miserable procedures in my life and that was by far the worst. Make them sedate you. I would never EVER allow them to do that to me again without some sort of sedation

Cytoscopy isn't fun but its quick so not that bad. I don't why you'd be knocked out for it though, didn't know that was an option.

I absolutely opted for this. He presented the option of me being awake and taking a Valium, but frick that. That Valium did nothing for me during the snip job.
I've heard of men jumping off the chair while being awake. Different breed of men, I suppose.

Had it done today. Thankfully knocked out. Bless y’all that had to be awake for that.
My experience hasn’t been bad. As another poster said above, just feels like I’m pissing glass…and constantly feeling the urge to piss.
They didn’t find cancer in my bladder - so, big win today.

As a woman, I had to have mine without sedation and that shite was uncomfortable as hell so I can only imagine how that was for you all with a much longer urethra. Can definitely understand sedating at that point.
Glad it came out ok, OP. Had mine for diagnosis of Interstitial Cystitis.
