Advice on SLAP repair post-op supplements and nutrition
On my way to get my labrum repaired on my dominant arm. Have put this off as long as I can, but the time has come. I haven’t been able to really work out my upper body at all in the past few years, so I’m not too worried about losing a ton of muscle and getting back in the gym ASAP.

However, I know there are probably some things I can take to help speed up recovery. I know Vitamin E, K, C, Grape Seed Extract (though not sure what form), etc...What about any of the other more advanced supplements you guys discuss on here? SARMS, peptides, prescribed testosterone shots, etc. that may help my recovery and rehab?

I know better this time (had this done 20 years ago and it was not very successful) than to try to push myself physically, but am hoping there are some nutritional things I can do to put myself in the best position for the best outcome. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA

Damn. A lesser man would have been hurt by the lack of replies.

Been a week. Had to use 5 anchors. Asking for advice again on anything that may help with recovery. Not a 25-30 year old anymore looking to get back in the gym to start slinging heavy weight around again, just a 40 year old hoping to get back my functional strength as quickly as possible without sacrificing anything long-term more than I already have.

Not sure about the supplements but there is going to be a very specific rehab protocol and timeline you will have to follow. You don’t want want to do anything to rush strengthening that may put undue stress on the anchors earlier than you should. Just eat well balanced meals and you should be fine.

No, make no mistake, I will not be pushing the timeline of the protocol. Will be following it to a T. It’s not worth it. Just want to make sure I’m doing everything I can via diet and supplements to put myself in the best position for a full recovery.

Time is not nearly as important as regaining as much functionality as possible. Like, let’s say standard protocol gets me to 75%. I just don’t want to not have done something that could have gotten me to 80 or 85%.
