So if I train to do both, what time would be acceptable for the 50mile run?
Walker, I was one of the castor creek critters at voodoo. I was the big red headed one haha
Andy, we DNF at voodoo. Both me and my buddy fumbled our electrolytes and did not eat properly. Not to mention it was our first “all nighter”. It was rough haha

What's up man! I would like that to make it comparable one would have to actually run the entire 50 with no more than breaks to refill water, pee etc. About a 12-13min mile is about as slow as you a person can actually run without changing the stride from a run to a race walk. Obviously, this is still not comparable but it at least put parameters on the it such as the PC has proper form and weights of 315, the run would then have a minimum time/speed, form etc. Not everyone can PC315 and not everyone can RUN a 50mi. Both are HARD AF

my only logical thought is to use world record as the base line. PC world record is 586 so 315 of that is 53%. take walmsley's time of 4:50:08 and covert on same ratio you get ~7.5 hr 50 miler. with this time I'd somewhat say they would require similar amount of training to achieve but again I'll never PC 315 but I can run 7.5 hr 50 miler.

I like yalls thought processes on this. I decided a couple of years ago to attempt distance running while maintaining some serious strength. As of right now My distance PR is 100k @ 15h 25m (I could’ve gone some faster but not much, I was running with a friend). I posted a 550DL, 360BP and a 6h30m 50k in feb2020. This summer I’m really pressing to get my weight down (currently 240) in order to gain speed. I truly believe I can get a 50miler in at a 12ish min/mile pace and get VERY close to a 315 PC by this fall.
I really hope this doesn’t come across as a “look at me” thing haha. But I figured I would never break any land speed records and never win a powerlifting meet so just split the difference haha.

Kevin, I like this thought process!

The only thing I don’t like about that thought process is that unless I’m running 50 miles on a flat road in 50 degrees I don’t think I could break 7:30!lol

This depends on the individual
I’d expect a guy that’s 5’10” or taller and weighs 150 pounds to run that far if they’re a runner but I’d be more impressed if he were to clean that much
Now if a guy was 5’9 220 and gad those same attributes I’d be more impressed with the run
