Hey guys. Just started playing the game about a year ago. Trying to get better every week. I trouble with hinging my wrist during my backswing. Don’t really know when to hinge it. I look on YouTube and people make it so complicated. Any easy advice?

The second you even consider your wrist in the swing, you are doomed

If grip, posture, ball position, and backswing are correct, your wrist will automatically be in the right position

Pressure only on the base of the last 3 fingers of ur bottom hand

Check out Hogan’s 5 Lessons of Golf. There are helpful illustrations

Brian Manzella at English Turn is supposed to be great.

Leitz in Covington is the only top 50 instructor and fitter in the country.

Noel at money hill is supposed to be really good.

They have a golf tech in Metairie.

Kenny Bruce at Lakewood is good, my buddy has gone to him a couple of times.

Alex Abruzza at Bayou Oaks used to work at Saw Grass and their rates are really good.

Santiago Cordova at Ormond (cypress lakes) has a trackman and a V1 and gives lessons.

I was given the following on this board for an instructor in New Orleans and have taken 5-6 lessons with him. He’s really good.

Text Bobby Chrestman, PGA at 504-908-1902 and he will be happy to help you. Outstanding teacher for every level golfer. He teaches out at City Park or wherever.

I can attest to this.

My freshman year of college at LSU I worked at city park driving range during the summer and saw Bobby teaching all the time. People loved this guy.

Back then the city park driving range had a bout 6 or 7 teachers that would haunt the stalls and Bobby was probably the best one out of the bunch. He was always booked and the guy had an actual passion for teaching.

Rob Noel was also a legend when I worked at the range.

He had already started his academy and left city park by then but everyone talked about this guy and everyone said he was incredible and had a gift for getting people better.

Get in address position and grip the club. Lift the club up to waist level without moving your arms. That’s it. Now do that while turning and adding a little arm lift.

Let the weight of the club set your wrists in the back swing. Dont let them collapse, but also dont fight gravity.

Saguto Golf

Dude is quirky but I find him really easy to understand and does a good job explaining what the feeling should be. He has a video he just did on what the wrists should do.

And you’re just a beginner. I would just save some money and quit now

That Saguto dude is wild.

I was actually watching him before I went and finally took a lesson a couple of weeks ago. What my instructor taught me though was actually the exact opposite of what Saguto teaches. Saguto had me flat as hell in the backswing.
