Why so many international commentators?

My goodness I feel like I’m watching the BBC feed on CBS. Aside from the mainstay Faldo, they’ve got Nobilo, Immelmann, and some other dude who has an awful accent and uses a shot load of stupid British slang. Every once in a while Jim Nantz gets in a few words. Are there no entertaining Americans who can do color commentary good enough for CBS?

Would you rather play by play from Damon Hack?

Golf is a global sport. I think the international commentators are great.

The Europeans are usually much, much better when it comes to golf broadcast announcing and color commentary. They make it an interesting story. Jim Nantz is the only American at the premier level.
I miss Renton Laidlaw - he was the best.

I love Ian Baker Finch. If I had won that mega millions last month, I would pay him to read me bedtime stories.
