6000 yards is the ladies tees isn’t it?

I used to play the tips when I first started playing, I dgaf. Honestly it helped my scores a lot of the times because maybe I’d hit it into trouble from the “proper” tees. There were a lot of courses I scored better rounds from Tips than the whites.

I do hit (and always did hit) it long, just a little wild and unpredictable.

These days I don’t tip it out anymore, but anything less than like 6600-6700 feels like it shouldn’t count. I may as well play an executive course

4854 is the yardage for the Ladies tees on the Judge.

Tips are 7807. If you can’t carry your driver at least 260-270, you can’t reach some of the fairways.

Senior (men’s) tees are 5215. Play long enough eventually you’ll be teeing up at those.

Ladies tees

I play with some junior girls who soon enough will be teeing off from behind me so the “ladies” tee for them will be 6400.

Ego gets in the way of reality for some men. I played with a guy who made 1 par on a chip in from the “men’s” tee while I played the “senior” tee. He did not hit the ball further than me, but he asked why I was playing “up there.”

Well said. Me included, I played at a high level for a while, and moving up tees has come with difficulty.

We think we can hit it further than we do, and until I bought a launch monitor I didn’t really understand how far each club went. Oh I knew if I hit it perfect how far it COULD go, but until you have a couple hundred balls logged on it, you don’t realize the max carry it showed was 241, which was the ONLY ball over 240, but I had a lot in the 220’s.

You aren’t going to break 90 from the tips very often if that’s how far you hit the ball. So reluctantly I moved up after i figured out I just can’t hit it far enough anymore. I’m eying the gold tees as being in my future, but until my average carry is down to around 220 or so from my current 233 with a driver I’m going to play the white tees and get to actually enjoy rounds where I have a bunch of opportunities to make birdie when I’m hitting it well, instead of frustrating ones I get very few even when I am hitting it well.

It’s nice up here.

Don’t wait forever.
As George Jefferson said:

“movin’ on up, to” the GOLD tees, for that deluxe wedge on a par 4.

We movin’ on up, to the gold tees,
Because I can’t carry 225 anymore.

Those are kind of fun.
Low score still wins.

My favorite part of RTJ trail is the par 3 courses.

Years ago, I use to love playing the tips because I got into less trouble with my driver and my length was a big advantage .

Now I try to play around 6300. I still want to use most of my clubs in my bag regularly.

Guys in my group said “nope”

I actually reached a par 5 in 2 with a 3-iron Wednesday. Hard fairways, downwind and a bit downhill, but it counts.

Of course the guys in the group in front hit 3 par 5’s in 2 from the gold. Still a shot back of us :)

is to multiply your 5-iron carry distance by 36.
pretty accurate. I like being 6800-7000. I hate flip wedges all day.

Man that is a lot of yards for someone your age (no offense meant). I play with some older gents on Sundays and they can't wait till they turn 65 and go to the senior tees at my home course, which is probably 5,800-6k just guessing. They are good golfers too but they just don't hit it far, like most older guys, they are going to shave a lot of strokes off their game when they move up. Personally, I don't see myself playing 6,600 yards at age 74, I just hope I'm still alive and kicking and still able to play

I play the tips so that I use every club in the bag. Hitting driver then 9 iron every hole gets boring.

Not a hacker though. I play about a 8 cap.
