It’s a shame. I really like that course

I went and complained to the powers that be. Dont know if it will do any good but I couldnt leave without at least letting them know that it was unacceptable.

#6 of the par 3 course, #7 tee is on top of the hill and you can’t see 7 green, you have to ring that bell to let the group on the green know you have reached the tee box so you don’t hit into them. They have a turtle on top of the hill showing the line to hit over to the pin location

Here is the layout, sorry it’s sideways, also the drink holder tee markers are a nice addition.

Absolutely not just a good spot to kill some Tito’s and smoke a good cigar.

Yea, that's no fun b/c you can't short side yourself with the bunker front and lack of green to the right. Of course if you hit the middle of the green a 2 putt is an accomplishment.

I missed 2 birdie putts b/c of patches of grass right in front the hole on Saturday. Not sure what day you played but wondering if you noticed that as well.

Yeah I played the bears, tee shot was 2 yards from being wet on 13. Pin was in the back right. Round was sorta so so, fk it hit a cut 8 iron in to about 12 feet power lipped out for eagle! Fun times.

I really like playing there it's really the only nice course for me since Squirrel Run is crap now and the Wetlands you have to book 3 days in advance.

Speaking of No. 7 being tough, damn number 2 and 11 are tough as well.
I can fk up an opening par really quick when I get to No. 2

Hit my drive straight down the middle at the 150 yard marker on #9, the fairways are so fast that it ended up in the bunker 50 yards from the green.

Played Windance Saturday. Greens had been punched two weeks prior and still were recovering.

Shot 78 with 3 doubles. Hit 13 GIR. It was a nice day after struggling for 2 months or so.

Squirrel Run is in the best shape it’s been in the last 6 years..... Getting lots of play and getting lots of repeat players. My last 2 rounds from the tips have been 73 and 77....

I think you are talking about the “woods” course... It’s the back 9 now. You guys need to play before the July 9 & 10... punching the greens those two days....

73 n 79 from the tips there is nice!
The greens have gotten much better.
I was there 2 days last week and today maybe had 10 cars in the parking lot all 3 days. Really hope they keep it turning upward w Abbeville closed and Spanish going downhill. Squirrel could really capitalize on golfers in the area from those two clubs going over there.

Has it been busy during the weekend? If so thats awesome. Happy they are getting more play

But comparing courses over the last 12 months Patterson has been much better and its not close.

So glad to see the old no.4 back open. Takes me back to how the course played when I first played there.

Friday , Saturday and Sunday had over 325 rounds combined..... It’s slow during the week, however...but prices are very reasonable and the membership is $220 tax included for unlimited cart and green fees.

Man good for them! Hopefully the next 2 weekends will be just as good! If we can get good weather on the weekend that would be nice.
If Squirrel keeps it going its nice for us golfers from around the area that we can go there instead of driving 30-45 minutes for a round to play
Whos doing the greens now, they were turning the corner for the Bo Duhe tournament

Squirrel ‘s maintenance supervisor is a great guy who goes the extra mile to make sure everything gets done. He makes sure his staff is doing what they expected to do. Speaking of the Bo Duhe, I was on the tournament staff. I was driving a beverage cart.

If so, then we met probably quite a few times that day lol! It's always a great tournament with a great turnout, I played in the Loreauville tournament that next weekend.

That's great to hear, seems like he has the course moving in the right direction. Crazy how great of a course it was in it's prime it has the potential to be that again esp. with them back to the original 18
