Finally playing enough golf that my spikes are starting to get chipped off and worn down. I have Footjoys that use the Fast Twist 3.0. Looks like softspikes is the major brand but they have quite a few models. I guess some are built for more traction and some are built for more comfort? And then maybe some inbetween?

I know a lot of people are going spikeless but I really do enjoy the grip of a full spike so want to stay with that. Any tips on the different options or does it really not matter?

I do miss the clacking on the concrete from when I was a kid. Started playing steady in the later 90's when everything was switching over.

The reason ametures don't wear spikes is because people don't pick up there feet when they walk on greens.

I am sure they have other reason. But this is the main one.

Dude people don’t even fix their ball marks, you really think they can be bothered to not drag their feet? The way things are going now pretty soon you’re gonna start seeing knuckle marks on the green.

I know, I usually fix more than one when I am on a green

Even soft spikes will mess up a green when worn by foot draggers. The worst thing is to get to a green and see the scuffed up spots around the cup.
