To be fair, it's only a handful of guys in my regular game that act that way, and I just don't pair up with them. 1 guy is a legit scratch golfer, so I listen to him. But when a 15 is telling people at the back of the tee to be completely still, then nails one in the woods, it's stupid.

How many times do I have to tell you to not stand behind me?

People who answer their phone on the golf course.

Weekend warriors who dont know golf etiquette and refuse to let faster groups play through

Not fixing divots in the green

People that drag their feet on the green

Golf courses where there is zero maintenance on bunkers

If I don't answer my phone on the golf course I would never be able to play. I try to keep it short and I'll grab a club and walk away from everybody so they can't hear me. I also do my best to not hold anybody up if it's my turn.

But I understand where you are coming from and I hate that sometimes I have to answer my phone on the golf course

I see a lot of people saying people that give advice but I hate when people ask how does my swing look? What do you think I'm doing wrong? Do you think this putt breaks to the right or left? Half the time I don't know where my ball is going to go so you ask for my advice on your swing.

Unless I'm at my home course, I'm not reading anyone's putt. And those situations are rare. Usually a friend who's never played there before. If it's our team game, everyone knows the greens well enough. Any where else I just politely decline with self-deprecating humor. And no one is going to ask me for swing advice.

Or water coolers not filled. LSU course is famous for that.

I can't stand when people who are out on the green miss their putt, pick up their ball, and immediately set it down again so they can reputt it when you finish.

It's even worse when they are standing over it.

That's certainly situational. If there's no one waiting to hit into the green and money isn't on the line, I have no problem with someone taking an extra putt.

Everything about BREC courses. Crappy bunkers. Fivesomes taking 4-5 shots to reach the green. 5+ hour rounds. Ball marks on greens. Driving ranges. I could go on but what's the point?

I could go on with my pet peeves for weeks.

1. Four-somes and especially five-somes who go out on prime time weekend tee times and proceed to hit it everywhere but straight while smaller groups stack up behind them.

2. Hackers who take three or four practice swings before topping the ball ten yards and repeating the process. Just fricking hit it.

3. Hackers who refuse to get a club ready to go while their hacker buddy is busy topping his shot, meaning they then drive the cart ten yards to the left and he takes his sweet arse time topping his shot just like his buddy.

4. People who are obviously well over double-bogey taking the flag out and taking turns holding it while their playing partners miss easy putts. Just drop the bitch and putt away.

Are you saying people shouldn't use the line?

Not at all. I'm saying that people that use the line shouldn't complain that someone else marking their ball is slowing the pace of play.

People that bitch about shitty greens.....

Then act like finding out their course punched the greens is worse than a cancer diagnosis.

I wasn't really complaining about people marking their ball. I was mentioning that being bothered by others not marking was trivial.

I will also line up my ball while someone else is putting so I'm not holding others up, but apparently that bothers others too
