Because you posted something dumb? Rory has been in the top 5 of strokes gained off the tee since at least 2015, led 2 of those years and second in at least one more. He's been the most consistent driver of the golf ball and it hasn't been all that close, the stats back it up.

I didn't make you post something dumb, I just pointed out that you did. Sorry if it hurts your feeling s.

You cherry pick the stats to support your argument. Don't bother responding. I'm done responding to your dumb posts.

??? You're the one that posted a meaningless stat that has no bearing on actual performance. I posted a stat that compares every drive to the average drive on the PGA Tour, which Rory has most consistently led for half a decade.

It's OK to admit you were wrong

Strokes gained off the tee is pretty much the only stat that matters for comparing players in driving. That is the stat that players themselves will tell you they actually use. All the rest are fluff.

OK, I learned something new. If all of the stats are fluff why does the Tour track and publish them?

Because people like you are only capable of understanding the menial stats like those.

Same reason the MLB still posts batting average and rbi's

You are a fricking class A arse hole. And I suspect I'm not the only one that thinks that.

Again, I'm not asking you to lean in further on a stupid take, but you decided to do so so I continue to tell you it's objectively stupid.

Part of it is inertia and part of it is that they are just easier for the average fan to get his or her head around.

Strokes-gained is not exactly intuitive for most people, I’d imagine.

Rory is the best driver of the golf ball in the world.

But it does hurt Brooks that Strokes gained off the tee doesn’t include the majors when he brings his best stuff by far.
