Only played the front 9 but fairways actually in great shape. Greens arent terrible. All BREC courses are closed but theres a sign on the clubhouses saying you can walk the course as long as you distance. Was pretty crowded today

#14 toughest hole in city. Maybe in all of golf.

Been so long I can't remember much about Webb. Used to ride my motorcycle after work while going to LSU with my clubs strapped to my back. My father played there also as a student and at law school at LSU. Many of his old friends lived right next to it. Good times.

Unfortunately word has spread about the BREC courses being free to walk. Santa Maria has turned into a clown show with the amount of people that are showing up there and Webb has seen a big increase the last week or so also.

I wonder why BREC decided not to open. They could have done no carts and limited maintenance like they are doing now and just charged everyone $10 to play as much as they want. Seems like everyone being off and the weather being perfect is bringing everyone out. Could also be the free golf.

For me, it's a combo of relaxed work, great weather and free golf that has me playing as much. I squeeze in 9 holes a few times a week.

Always club up on 5, a lot of room deep

Many times. Yes long, but That fairway is freaking huge. Lotta room for bad tee shots. No room on 14 at Webb for a bad tee shot, and a good driver will run through the fairway and go under a huge tree. So very tight, not to mention the green that slopes back to the front so you better not go long on your approach.

Play an iron off of the tee and take those trees out of play.

According to index, there are 11 tougher holes just at Webb, never mind the city. Hell, #7 at City Park is tougher.

Ummm what? Zero chance to go into a hazard. Zero chance (unless you're really horrid) at going OB. I've sliced a shot into #18 fairway, played down the 18 fairway, pitched up from 60 yards, gotten birdie. Normally I'm shooting 5 or 6 even without shooting well.

Playing Greystone and Carter in the last 2 weeks, plus Webb 3 times, I can tell you it's not in the top 20 toughest holes

Has Webb been re-designed, where what used to be 13 is now 14?

You are thinking 13th. 14th is the dogleg left where you tee off over the canal.

Did anyone's kid leave their #9 iron out there last week? I meant to leave it on the starters desk but forgot when walking off.

That hole isn’t hard in any way. A 15 HCP could 7i -pw that hole all day long
