36, work on motion and stretching pretty religiously. Lift and stay in shape.

Have a bitchin case of soreness on my left side, lower back, upper butt. Never had this happen.

Maybe just a case of overuse? I’ve played a lot and been on the range more frequently over the holidays.

Any remedies besides rest or things to watch for in my swing?

Dealing with something similar except mine is on the lower right side.. been having to take a couple ibuprofen before a round along with stretching then get home and hit it with my theragun .. Still just a dull lingering pain that just won't go away

Sounds similar. Seems Piriformus from everything I’ve looked which is inflammation against the sciatic.

Need to be careful to make it more serious.

I'm fully convinced the human body and the golf swing are completely incompatible with each other. Along with my back I'm also dealing with a dull lingering pain in my left trap.. like shite I know I'm 44 but I'm a pretty healthy guy.. just feel like I'm falling apart here recently

I think it may be some problems with your SI joint. Try to make sure you sit with your weight distributed equally if you have to sit for long periods of time. You can google some SI joint self mobilizations to see if it helps.

Deep tissue massage ball to the upper butt/hip joint area. There’s a slot there that you’ll know when u find it. Rub rub rub

I've got same issues except my right side

Likely have weak and very tight hip flexors as well as side hips

Stretching is critical as well as working those muscle groups. You likely don't do side leg lefts or good girl bad gurl exercises.

I hang stretch alot and also let my legs hang over the edge of table, bed etc while on my back to lengthen hip flexors

Ok, apparently we're going to need a stickied thread with a routine of stretches and exercises specifically for golf..

Played new years eve and day and again this past Friday.. has a slight twinge on NY day this past Friday it really started acting up again.. It was so bad that I had lower back spasms all weekend and couldn't play Saturday or Sunday..

Anyone got a routine they can share?

Get a foam roller, use it 3-5x a day.
Straight leg hamstring stretches.
Knee to chest after foam roller.
Knee to opposite shoulder.
Lay on your belly, push up with your hands at shoulder height and hold while your junk stays on the ground.
Squat all the way to the ground and hold onto something solid and push away with your toes while holding on.

I do the stretches in the link below and it helps.
Piriformis stretches

When it gets bad I go get stretched at place by my house called Stretch Lab. There are numerous places like that one.

You need to strengthen that muscle group. Ice, NSAIDs, stretching and rolling can help alleviate the inflammation, but the root cause is weakness in that area and the surrounding musculature. It will recur without muscle development.

Weighted leg lifts while on your side, raised leg extensions, high bar arse-to-grass squats (sumo stance might help as well).

I had this bad last year, but I sit all day for work. Stretching, heat and even dry needling did not fix it. A couple weeks rest followed by a few months of really focusing on glute and hip strengthening and stretching has helped tremendously. Look up the kneesovertoesguy content as a start. His big exercise (that has seemed to help me as well) is a deep lunge with the knee going way out over your toes. I also do a lot of romanian dead lifts and other similar stretch/strength exercises. I can still sometimes feel the pain in low back after a round, but it's no longer crippling like it was for a couple months there last year.
