True Spec club fitting

I decided to write this for anyone that questions the importance of getting properly fit for clubs.
Saturday I participated in a full bag club fitting at True Spec Golf in Orlando, FL.
I walked in, strecthed, and hit some balls to warm up. I hit about 12 shots with my current 6i to get baseline numbers and judge the performance of my gamer. Then we moved into the club room. Fitter asked me to select 6 heads that I liked, and he picked 6 more heads he believed would be good for me. We started hitting different irons with my current gamer iron shaft. After about 10 balls with each club, I was asked which 6 heads felt, and looked the best to me. We then took these 6 heads and started trying a dozen shafts. We scanned the data for all the shots hit out of the 6 semifinalist and got the best 3 heads and the best 3 shafts. I then hit another 10 balls with each and came down to one winner. We did this exact thing with my driver, 3wood, and wedges.
Now for the data side. My current iron set are Cobra King pro 4-6i CB, 7-w MB with modus 120x shafts. These clubs were purchased after being hit at a demo day with basic data from a trackman. What I found out from a "real" fitting was that my launch, spin, and landing angle were not ideal. These items were corrected with this new build. I was able to increase my launch 2*, increase spin by 1000 rpms, improve my land angle all with gaining 5 yards.
The biggest improvement was in the irons. We tested my current gamer driver and 3wood, hit every club out and could not beat my current ping G400 heads.
Summary - 400 balls and 4 hrs later I have 11 new clubs coming. Even if a single handicap, go get fit if you want to play your best.

I'm getting a full bag fitting at Club Champion in ATL after New Years. All club champions are having a 50% off full fittings until 1/31.
So what irons and specs did you end up with?

after trying all brands, the clubs that produced the best numbers and fit for me were
Taylormade 770p 4-pw / 2* flat / 1* weak loft kbs tour FTL 120x d3 sw
Taylormade 790 3i same specs as a driving iron same specs
Taylormade milled wedges 50/54/58 - all bent 1* weak to add bounce d4 sw
With the fitting I received my trackman fitting report and the build sheet of my irons and wedges. Turnaround time I was told is two week.
Kept my same driver and 3wood
Ping g400 ls 10* with aldila mamba green 7TX
Ping g400 3wood 14.5 with ust chrome + 7x

Is this the thread where I humble brag about my 300yrd carry?
Posted on 12/11/17 at 1:04 pm to PortHudsonPlaya
If you got it, flaunt it. I tried Ping, Taylormade, Callaway, and Titleist with every shaft made and the top ball speed I got was 167. My ping was the best with TM m1 second. Epic had the worst ball speeds for me.

Recognizing this number is being looked at in a vacuum, isn't that on the high side of things?

No. That's a pretty good number. Anything under 3000 is good. 2000 is ideal for most higher swing speeds.

while i would love to do a fitting like this, the main thing holding me back is cost
not only does the fitting cost a decent amount, but i'm liable to fall in love with some clubheads and shafts that are some of the most expensive available and then i'd feel like shite if I played with anything less than what I was fit for
in other words, the fitting and results could cost 2500 bucks or more in a heartbeat and i'm not ready to put that into my golf game

It's really not that much added costs at the end of the day. I did a Driver fitting a while back at Club Champion.
It was $150 but ended up just going with a new shaft at $200 as my Ping head was comperable to newer heads I hit. Less than what I would've spent just grabbing a stock G400 off the shelf.
Even so $150 extra for a club you'll most likely have 2-3 years ain't that much money.
My old hobby, I had to spend $50,000 on a boat just to get started.

I was hitting balls from inside a bay to an outdoor range. Ball used was titleist pro V1x practice. All on trackman.
We changed shafts a couple times to drop the spin but when we did that the carry numbers dropped because of the launch angle. Then we tried to raise my launch angle. but then ran into too much spin (28-2900). This was the best window for me and the club I liked and own.

Anything I get recommended is being bought used.
