I was hitting balls Saturday morning when I felt a very odd and painful sensation. Pain lasted a minute but I can’t move the tip of my left index finger. Have a swollen spot on my palm that I get a tugging sensation when I try to bend it. Read it’s very common in golf, one of the chase could be due to your grips being too small. I use a midsize grip but haven’t put them in my new irons yet. I have been hitting about 100-150 balls most days. Need to get a steroid shot in my hand. I’ll be out for a few weeks. 39 and already falling apart. Just got over knee tendinitis last week.

Imagine 72, and something hurting every morning when you wake up.

It doesn't get any better with age. 68 now.

9 broken bones
6 Arthroscopic surgeries
1 total knee replacement
Cervical Spine Fusion
Wrist tumor

I get Ablation Therapy twice a year for my back so I can golf.

11 years of football and 4 years of professional softball wreaks havoc on the body.

The key is that you can't sit down. You have to keep moving or die.

It was explained to me the sheath around the tendon in the palm gets inflamed and doesn’t allow the tendon to move. Typically the tendon gets stuck and then pops. In my case it’s just stuck.

Thirty years ago, one of my elderly patients said, “You know, Doc, my pain never leaves; it just moves from one part of my body to another.” I laughed.

I’m not laughing anymore. He was right.
